Terms of Service

Last updated 9 July 2026

These terms govern your use of the digiplate.uk website and, once available to you, the Digiplate service — our QR & NFC review plates, hosted profile pages, dashboard and analytics ("the Service"). By using the website or the Service you agree to these terms. If you're using Digiplate on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for that business.

Questions first, always: contact@digiplate.uk.

1. What Digiplate is

Digiplate provides physical plates and cards containing QR codes and NFC chips, connected to hosted profile pages and dynamic links that you configure — for example pointing customers to your Google review form, TripAdvisor listing, social profiles or your own website — together with analytics about scans, taps and clicks.

Digiplate is a tool for inviting genuine customer feedback. It is not a service for generating, buying or manipulating reviews, and must not be used as one (see Acceptable use).

2. Early access

Registering interest gives you a place on our early-access list; it does not create a paid contract, guarantee availability, pricing or launch dates, and either of us can walk away before an order is placed. When you place an order or activate a subscription, these terms plus the order details form the contract.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything done through your account. Keep your account details accurate, and tell us promptly at contact@digiplate.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Plans, billing and the free tier

  • Free tier: includes core functionality, displays Digiplate branding (a watermark) on your profile page, and provides basic analytics.
  • Pro: paid plans remove the watermark and add advanced analytics and features as described at the time of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Prices may change with reasonable notice — never mid-way through a period you've already paid for.
  • Where hardware (plates, cards) is purchased, consumers have the cancellation and return rights given by UK consumer law; custom-branded items may be excluded from change-of-mind returns to the extent the law allows.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the website or Service to:

  • offer customers incentives, rewards or discounts in exchange for reviews, gate reviews (inviting only satisfied customers), or solicit fake reviews — practices that violate Google's and TripAdvisor's policies and, in the UK, consumer protection law;
  • publish content on your profile page that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, defamatory or harmful, or that impersonates another business;
  • link to malware, scams or deceptive destinations, or repoint a plate in a way designed to mislead the people scanning it;
  • interfere with, overload, reverse-engineer or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service;
  • resell or white-label the Service without our written agreement.

We may suspend or remove profile pages, links or accounts that breach this section, with notice where practicable. You remain responsible for the content and destinations you configure.

6. Third-party platforms

Google, TripAdvisor, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms your links point to are independent services with their own terms and policies. Digiplate is not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and we don't control how they rank, display, moderate or remove reviews or listings. Complying with their policies is your responsibility — our content on staying compliant is guidance, not legal advice.

7. Your content and our IP

You keep ownership of the content you add to your profile page (your name, logo, links, images) and grant us the licence needed to host and display it as part of the Service. The Digiplate name, branding, hardware designs, software and site content are ours (or our licensors'), and these terms don't transfer any of that to you. Our blog content may be linked to freely; don't republish it wholesale without permission.

8. Availability, and what we don't promise

We work to keep the Service fast and available, but it is provided "as is": we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and maintenance, updates or events outside our control may cause downtime. We also make no promises about outcomes — review volumes, star ratings, search rankings and platform behaviour depend on your business and on third parties, and any figures in our content are illustrations, not guarantees.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost profits, revenue or goodwill), and our total liability arising out of the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Service in that period.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

9. Ending things

You can stop using the Service and cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms (including Acceptable use), for non-payment, or if we discontinue the Service — in which case we'll give reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund of any unused prepaid period where the termination isn't caused by your breach. On termination your profile page stops resolving; plates and cards you've purchased remain yours, though their links will no longer function.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we'll give registered users reasonable notice by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, you may cancel before the change applies.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protections and forum rights of your home nation's law.
